Have you observed your kids sometimes and wonder about what they are playing and how can that be any fun?
Sometimes I see them repeatedly scooping balls out of a box and throwing them back in. Or like in this pic below. They were sitting on the upper bunk, and having a part of the snake in their mouths, and playing tug of war.
I walked in and out of the kitchen, and they were doing that for a loooong time. How can that be so engaging that they can have so much fun playing like that for so long? It beats me.
So I took pics of them, but of course I didn't interfere. As long as they are not fighting or doing something dangerous.
Hang on, maybe the paint on that snake contains lead??
ds2 even looks as if he is sucking on the snake, yucks!
The new dish this week, courtesy of ayi's cooking lesson: quail's eggs and beef, cooked till the beef is super tender. Simple but yummy. The kids loved this very much. They don't eat beef in other forms usually but they love this.
Then we did a series of baking, the kids and I, and pancake making. I made all of these in the pic below using pancake mix. Thanks Angeling, for buying the pancake mix!
Cheese and garlic biscuits, blueberry muffin (in a square), and blueberry pancakes. The blueberries in Tianjin are non-existent or super expensive, so my canned Oregon blueberries were from Singapore (NTUC Extra, Jurong Point).
Ayi loved the muffins, so did Kim (ds2's classmate's mom) who visited me one morning. Dh enjoyed the pancakes and I like the cheese biscuits (I prefer savoury to sweet in this case!).
After I made the pancakes, the kids pressed shapes out of them and we packed it for them to bring to school in their snack boxes. Normally ds2 doesn't like pancakes and he hates blueberries (don't ask me why since I love it), but he will eat them if he cut them out into shapes himself.
