I saw this pretty new stall at Jurong Point. Cannot resist taking a pic.
It's called Icing Factory, I think, and it sells very beautiful and yummy cakes. Apart from that, the thing that caught my attention was the hordes of teen girls crowded around the glass counters.
I went over to take a look and saw several revolving cake stands and the girls were having fun decorating various cakes. Some looked like they were from the same sports team in school and were drawing basketballs on the cake. Another group was doing the cake for a friend's birthday. Yet another group was a music-themed one. Their cake had music notes and such on it. So fun!
I was so tempted to get a cake and decorate it myself. They provide the tools and icing and cream. You buy the cake, then you get to decorate it. I didn't get the chance to find out the details, but I saw that the smallest cake cost S$11.80. Not too bad, very affordable for the groups of schoolgirls there indeed, since if 6 of them shared one small cake, it is just S$2 per person.
What a good business idea. Look at the crowds. I went back to Jurong Point a couple of times that week, and each time I passed the stall, it was as crowded.

First thing Mon morning, I brought the kids to the medical clinic at Jurong Point. Why? To get amoxicillin, cough syrup, ear drops, anti-histamines. Just in case they get sick here in Tianjin.

I also bought kids multi-vitamins, cod liver oil, adults' vitamin C, Panadol (all the various kinds-thanks Angeling!)...
Angeling had helped me to stock up on a lot of things that saved me a lot of time too. Cooking essentials, baking essentials, chicken rice paste packs etc. Thanks a ton. Next trip back to Spore should be more relaxed and I need not squeeze all the shopping into a few days.
rainbows every day, do not worry for the morrow
