We were fed so well by our hosts. They didn't even know us personally actually. Years back, when they were in Spore and students of my dad, they had seen me as a very young girl of maybe 5 yrs old. I cannot recall them at all. But they are so warm and hospitable to us. Now, after meeting, we are all good friends, how nice.

Thursday morning, we wanted to make our own way to the Science and Tech Museum, so we told them to go ahead first. We left after they left and walked out through the small roads near their apt to the main road to catch a cab.

Didn't expect the small dirt roads to have such a bustle of activity! People were selling all kinds of things from fruits to clothing on the ground or on the back of the trucks or vans or push-carts.

After the science museum (about 3pm), we took a cab to Carrefour to get some cooking ingredients and headed back to our host's house for the cookout. Each one of us had to prepare a dish, he said, and then we will have a competition. I didn't care for my dish being judged. So I just thought of preparing mixed veggies, after hearing all the other dishes the rest were making (mostly meat or dessert dishes). Just wanted to contribute something because we had been freeloading off them too long.

(The kids were told to help themselves to the drinks and snacks on their counter, and they really did! They drank at least 6 pkts of chocolate milk, ate all the Kellogg's Frosties and the Oreo Wafers they had! Dh drank a lot of their Aik Cheong coffee, and me a lot of their Lipton Milk tea. Ahhh)

After the cookout, we had Bible study again, and took group photos too. This is the whole group, with Sporeans, local Chinese, HKers and an American.

That's the American speaker and us. Ds1 got along so well with him, they were proclaimed best friends. ds1 even asked to sit with him during dinner, and ds1 gave him 10 marks (perfect score) for the cookout. Of course, he cheated, cos once he knew ds1's fav.s are Mac'n'Cheese and Mash potato, he made a dish of Cheesy Mash Potato and another dessert of Apple Pie. Ds1 ate so much, he had to visit the toilet later.
