Wheeler Historic Farm
This month, the theme for preschool is all about Fall, Halloween and the changes brought about by the season.
Field trips are also related to the theme.
Had brought kids to this farm by myself before, but the company is different this time, so we followed. Also, it is a great chance to get to know more parents and help out. It is also free when we go on school trips. There will also be guided tours, unlike when we go alone.
Start of trip: met the guide, and toured the Old restored Wheeler House, where all the relics and antiques are. Kids were given a long talk about the history of the Wheeler family and the farm.

After that the kids were brought around the farm to view all the animals then go for a wagon ride.

After the wagon ride, the kids were given lots of bird feed: corn/ grain. They had a great time throwing them to the ducks and geese in the pond.

We stayed on the farm after the class went home. I let kids eat a picnic lunch then we went for ds1's drum lessons.
Another random pic below: the kids were lining up for photo-taking. Over here, the tradition is to take studio portraits of the kids each year, and very often with the school. So a studio the school engages will come and do them for the kids. I didn't order, as it was not cheap, and I didn't see the need for ds1 to have a framed portrait, since I take so many pics of them everyday. But I did see many of such portaits hung on the walls in friends' houses. They change them every year.
I ordered a class photo though. Can't wait to see it, cos the kids looked so cute.
rainbows every day, do not worry for the morrow
