Boston Harborfest Childrens' Day
Early in the morning, went to return rental car then went to the Boston harbor and the famous New England Aquarium. We didn't gain admission, just looked at all the marine life outside the aquarium, which was interesting enough. Below right: view of harbor from aquarium.

After aquarium, we were without car, and so we walked all the way downtown. It was good, cos we got to see all the historic and financial part of Boston.
At the City Hall, there was a 4th of July tradition of celebrating Childrens' Day. They have lots of performances, buskers, booths that gave out free food and drinks and gifts and also educational activities for kids to try. All are free.
Even the US Navy Submarine simulator ride was free, so we queued up for that. By the way, all these photos were lost in the PDA SD card, so I don't have our personal photos but general ones here.

There was also a Farmers' Market where we were so tempted to buy fresh veggies and fruits but we are travelling so it wasn't convenient. We really appreciated that this Farmers' Market is good, only when we attended our own city's. :-(

After letting kids try chalk drawing on the sidewalk, feeling all the sea creatures at the booth set up by New England Aquarium, getting free chips, drinks, etc from MacDonalds, and many other companies, playing various games and watching performances, we took a cab to Charlestown cos we were running late to meet dh's guru.
We knew he's a famous bowmaker and his wife is a well-known artist, but wow, his house still took our breath away. He lives along the Freedom Trail (this very important historic route that every tourist to Boston will visit, where many crucial events occurred in America's history), and beside the Bunker's Hill monument. And it's this 3 storey colonial mansion, with a basement. Very beautiful.

We were ushered into the living room. And I noticed a lot of artistic arrangements all around, from the scarf placed in the center of the sofa to the beautiful placement of bowsticks together at the corner of the room (above right). There were a lot of her own paintings hanging on the wall and placed strategically all around the room too.
The kids did not sit properly (see above left) and messed up the scarf. I was so concerned I quickly grabbed them and held them tight after that, while I placed the scarf back in what I hoped was a very meaningful position! Hope they won't notice any difference!
After we met with him and chatted, I could tell I would not be able to continue holding both kids in a vice-like grip for long, so I excused us, and I told dh to take his time. I went out with kids, walked all the way to somewhere near the Zakim Bridge, then hailed a cab back to the motel. Phew.
Fortunately so, cos kids napped, and dh returned only at 8pm at night. They apparently talked about work and the bowmaker master gave dh some tips while looking at some bows he made and brought along. For several hours. Very fruitful for dh.
rainbows every day, do not worry for the morrow
