After morning lessons and lunch, we set off for String and Leigh Lakes. We decided to do the hikes around the shore of the lakes, which were supposedly very beautiful, clear and pristine. It was around 2.4 miles I think.

Wildflowers by the trailside.

The ragged Tetons. Tranquil lakes. Right: Leigh Lake. Less pple go there than Jenny, Jackson or String Lakes, that's why we like it better. :-) Untouched beauty.

Above left: dh walking down the portage area where the canoes set off from.

Above left: saw a moth. Above right: ds1 hiked the whole distance by himself. He was exhausted towards the end and said he was very tired, asking for the stroller. But we egged him on by racing. Else we'd need to carry him, which we can't. I was also tired, and dh was carrying ds2. So, good job, and he posed as a muscular man here.
ds2 does want to walk most of the time too. But cos he walks too slowly, we'd need 5h for the hike if we walked at his pace, so stimes dh will carry him. He also has a bad habit of liking to kick the soil while he walks along.

Above left: Some parts of the trail will move off from the edge of the waters and go into the forest a bit.

Above: At String Lake, we stopped to let kids play with the water and the pebbles. String Lake is nearer the parking and camping site, so there are more pple here. Canoeing, swimming, boating, kayaking, climbing all take place here. Some families were setting up a BBQ too.

After the hike, we had dinner and went to some wildlife spots to view wildlife while they are more active (early morning and late evening) then we headed back to our tent to set up our own fire.
rainbows every day, do not worry for the morrow
