Early in the morn, 8.30am, we set off for SLC. Reason being ds1 has an appointment for an assessment related to his preschooling at 10am.

It took an hour, and I was surprised he could stay alone in the room for so long. I waited in the waiting room with dh and ds2, and there were magazines for us to read and toys for ds2 to play with, so it was quite a pleasant wait.

After that the assessor gave me a breakdown but said she'd send me a detailed report in the mail. She also said ds1 did ask to go out to "mummy" a few times, but she managed to convince him to stay on and "play some more games" with her. Ok, that's good.

Somehow both dh and I felt it was very atypical behaviour of ds1 (to be so good and listen to pple, and to do work quietly for so long) and we wanted to celebrate that. haha. ok, maybe we are just in celebratory moods this week.

We headed for a mall called "Fashion Place" nearby, and it had a cheap but nice buffet place, Chuck-A-Rama. Kids under 4 like ds2 eat free, while ds1 pays $2 I think. Adults $7.99 each, all you can eat, and they've 40 types of beverages, and lots of different types of cuisines. We ate until we were so stuffed.

Dh had to return to school, so I got him to drop us off a place called "Wheeler Historic Farm" which is near the Fashion Place.

It turned out to be a farm that's reconstructed and conserved from the past, to remember a important family, the Wheelers, who operated a farm there.

It was fun and admission is free, so we stayed for as long as we wanted. But it is not very big, and they didn't have too many animals, so we actually walked around the farm 4 times, and observed each animal for a long time, to while away all the time in the afternoon till dh came again to pick us up.

It was tiring and very sunny (not hot, cos there's a breeze, but very bright and glaring sun).

However, it seems worth it, cos the kids enjoyed themselves soooo much, running ard and playing with the animals.

Below right: a tractor-drawn wagon, which gave people rides around the farm. We actually sat on it, I'd to pay $1.50, young kids free.. I thought the ride was nothing much, because it just went around the farm and we saw nothing exceptional.

I didn't know the kids enjoyed it so much... They were making all sorts of noises during the ride. ds2 exclaiming at all the trees, the sky and the birds... ds1 making "woo-hoo" sounds very loudly. I have already learnt not to be embarrassed and avoid making eye contact with other parents and visitors on the same wagon ride (about 12 others?).

Until, the ride ended, and we all were trying to get off. That's when ds1 asked, "why so fast? I want to go again!" and ds2? he cried and screamed so loudly and totally had to be dragged off the wagon. Some parents looked at me sympathetically. sigh...

I told them when grandpa and wai po comes in June then they can ride with them again.

Now for the animals... In order from top to bottom and left to right.
Turkey, cows, calf, ds1 at duck and geese pond, ducklings with parents, mother sheep with lamb suckling (the lambs were stuck to her bulbous udders all the time, while she ate grass, while she drank and all the time she was walking ard)!, sign stating the little lambs were just quite recently born, horses and pigs.
