This is an SOS post...
I usually download all my pics onto my desktop into a single folder, but within that folder I will have all the pics organised by date or event. Well, I haven't had the chance to back it up since I arrived here, and was planning to...
The irony is, today, I held a DVD-RW in my hands and inserted it into the DVD-RW drive, wanting to backup all those precious moments..
Then, I realised that the folder is not on the desktop. Well, I wasn't too alarmed at first, because both sons have sometimes sneaked onto the PC before and "anyhow" click or drag files... I have found files on desktop being dragged into other folders before.
But!! After the whole afternoon, evening and now night, I have been searching for the folder and pic files in vain, using the search function, using manual search, in all folders and files in the C drive... I also assumed they might have accidentally renamed the files, so I tried searching based on recent activity instead of filenames...
Well, I came away with detailed knowledge of all the sites they and dh surfed, all the files they opened the past 2-3 days, but still no sign of the photos/ pics folder.
Can anyone enlighten me on what could've happened? I am very puzzled, confused.. and how to get it back?!?
Oh, my whole recycle bin has been checked too... I even resorted to restoring all the image and pic files in the bin, which was about 300+ files? and i went through every single one of them, but they were discards... not the ones I want... sigh
Asking the kids yielded no results... of course..
Friday the 13th post... I am not superstitious, but this has been the most unfortunate day..
Inviting all advice, just give it to me... I will explore all possibilities...
