What do we do during rainy and snowy days?
Now that we have gotten used to venturing out of the house, a rainy day or the recent wet snow can be a pooper.
I bought some sidewalk chalk, $1 for 100 chalk in different colours and let the kids "anyhow draw" all over the floor. That area is covered by a shelter so we could carry on even while it was drizzling.
Then I noticed that besides scribbling and doodling, ds2 was also picking at the ants crawling on the ground! (below left). This pic also shows his rubber clogs in bright pink. Sorry lah, cos there was a big sale, I think $3 per pair? And there was only 1 pair in his size and it was pink in colour... So dh and I decided it wouldn't matter, he needed a pair of clogs/ slippers anyway (he only had 1 pair of shoes). I'm glad he's not at the age that he minds yet! :-) Just hope he won't be too girly, with all these influences...

Couldn't resist posting another flower pic, cos they sprouted out in a whole cluster...
The rains here are usually not long thunderstorms like in Spore, so soon the weather was fine and they went out to play again.
And the pics below illustrate what I meant in an earlier post, that the swingset is being taken as climbing equipment now. ds1 will do this from left to right and right to left repeatedly. Otherwise he will swing standing up... he tells me he cannot sit cos the swing is wet... when i told him it's dangerous. sigh.

The other day I received a call asking me to do something urgent, so I had to run out to do it, just nearby at the church building. ds2 was napping, but ds1 was awake. He wanted to follow me but I couldn't leave ds2 alone at home, and if I went alone, I could run faster.
So I instructed ds1 to play at the swings where he could still at least see me running the distance to the building, while keeping an eye on his brother.
I took only 2-3min, then turned back home. When i saw the backyard and swings empty, and the back door shut, I was worried and a little scared, so I dashed all the way back. When I neared the backyard gate, ds1 suddenly opened the back door and shouted for me...
Guess what he said? He said he heard a man's voice (probably a neighbour) and thought maybe it is a "bad man" so he quickly went indoors and locked the door to protect "didi". Aiyoh, so sweet... He was standing at the side window to peer and see when I would return, then he would open the door. :-)
Indoor Craft: We did a mobile by cutting up a paper plate... But when I wanted to hang up pretty things like folded origami animals and flowers, ds1 refused and insisted we string his Shrek up.. So ok, it is his craft and we did so... Also, he didn't want anything else to be on the mobile, so it's not that much of a mobile.. as long as he is happy..
rainbows every day, do not worry for the morrow
