2nd church work day
Sat morning was Work Day again and the men cleared more of the new house's backyard. The women also came to clean the interior of the new house as the previous owners have vacated it.
It is a very nice house, with basement, split levels, 3 bedrooms, nice.. If we weren't so settled in our little house already, we might ask to move in the new house. :-)
(The church was asking if we knew anyone who wanted to stay there. )
I believe this was what happened before we moved here too. They must have done so much to prepare this little house for us to stay in and we are so grateful for that. Because when dh arrived alone in Sept 2006, not only was the house neat, painted clean and newly carpeted, the kind church members had also stocked it so well for him that he need not go grocery shopping for sometime! They had also asked what we needed and had also collected high chairs, stroller etc for our kids.
Anyway, this time, the Hoover family came to help and they have 4 kids. The dad was working with dh and other men. The mom was busy with the youngest one (only 20 mth old), and so the older 3 played in my house.
This time there was a coordinated food program and everyone brought something. I was to prepare chopped onions, tomatoes and lettuce. They were going to have tacos. So I did that in the morning. Then just watched the kids play. Here are some pics of them.
On our new swingset (still not anchored):

They had such fun jamming together, each with an instrument. Then playing on the train set. ds2 was slightly left out, cos the others were so much older. But i think he acted as conductor while they were jamming. Looks like (see 3rd pic below) :-)

Baked a Devil Chocolate Cake and muffins too. As a treat (more for myself and dh than the kids). Recycled the heart shaped picks from Valentine's Day muffins. :-)
Discovered a way to make the cake more chocolatey and rich (the gooey way I like): add chocolate pudding mix into the normal choc cake batter. I love the sticky choc texture. The Hershey's choc chips melted when baked too, making the whole thing even stickier. Don't think I can go back to making normal choc cakes anymore, after this. :-)
(although it is prob tons more calories, but who's counting?)
rainbows every day, do not worry for the morrow
