Just wanted to include this on my blog to remember this last batch of non-throughtrain students:

(taken from Mr Ang's speech)

OVERALL PERFORMANCE
This year, we have an unprecedented 2 Hwa Chong students who scored 10 Distinctions, 7 students with 9 Distinctions, 32 students scoring 8 Distinctions and 79 students scoring 7 Distinctions.

1 out of 2 students (393 as compared to 382 students last year) scored 4 A-Level Distinctions, with 7 out of 10 students scoring 3 A-level Distinctions and better.

EXCELLENT SUBJECT PERFORMANCE
We have 100% passes for 14 out of 18 subjects.
We have achieved a record-breaking 99.9% pass rate for General Paper.
Once again, 13 Art Elective Programme (AEP) students scored Distinctions for AEP.

For 2 years running, 9 out of 10 Hwa Chong students who took Biology scored a distinction.

8 out of 10 Hwa Chong students who took Chemistry, Physics, Chinese History and Geography scored distinctions in the respective subjects.
7 out of 10 Hwa Chong students who took Literature scored a distinction.

4 Hwa Chong students were awarded with the Institute of Physics Gold Medal for Excellence in Physics.

TOP SCHOLARS AMONG ALL JCs IN SINGAPORE

The 2 students who scored 10 Distinctions are Tay Yan Ling and Chou Xiujue Ailene.

Yan Ling, who is a recipient of the A*STAR JC Award and the Hwa Chong Scholarship, has applied to Yale and Berkeley to study Business.

A MOE Humanities Scholar, Ailene is heading to Oxford University to read History.

One of the 9 Distinctions holders, Tee Boon Pin also achieved 3 'S' Paper Distinctions. She is heading to University College of London to read Biochemistry.

Based on the university point system, Hwa Chong was academically ranked number 1 for the last 4 years of the JC ranking exercise.

We are indeed very happy for all our students who have done us proud.

To celebrate our achievements, Monday will be an official school holiday.

This last statement would be the highlight. Oh, i missed this! I had only enjoyed "half-day"s before, never a school holiday. It had to happen to this last batch when I am away.

But I am still very very happy! It'd be difficult to fall asleep now, so euphoric.

Ok, it's past 2am for me now. Goodnight, have fun celebrating!
