Hooray! Spring has arrived!
I spy the first flowers in my backyard already and was so excited I took pics of all the 4, yes, 4 clumps of flowers. You can see they sprouted out from the dry bare ground!
Pure Yellow ones:
Lavendar ones with a yellow center:
White ones with a yellow center and purple streaks on the outside of the petals:
And Yellow ones with brown patterns on the petals:
I think the advantage of having 4 seasons is: you never take anything for granted. I would never be that excited about flowers blooming if I had them all year round. And we wouldn't love falling snow so much if it occurred everyday too.
Another good thing is, finally it is warm enough for dh to get out and wash the car. We haven't washed it for 5 months. Of course, we only started driving it since early Feb but it was really horribly dirty already. Seems most pple don't manually wash their cars here, at least, not in winter. So quite a few pple were surprised to hear dh washed his car. Suddenly we seem like very hardworking and "hands-on" pple. haha
But oh, one bad thing about the warmer weather and longer days? The bugs are coming out from hiding! There are insects crawling all over the backyard and in my house, and tiny flies flying in swarms too. They just keep flying and hovering around a single spot in the garden. And the birds are also back. There are many who perch on my roof or on the clothesline in the yard and then, yes... I got lots of bird droppings on the ground. :-(
That's ok though, being able to get out for a walk each morning is great enough to overshadow that! :-)
