Received some very touching emails from students. Thank you. I feel so proud of you all when I read it and I was very very gan3 dong4.

Before that, i just want to mention that a lot of you emailed and MSNed, and some of you who scored Bs apologised. Please don't. If you tried your best and have improved by so much, especially with the last burst of hard work, you should be proud of yourselves. You have done well. And I will never be disappointed with any of you, so don't say sorry to me ok? I am still happy with your grades.

Now most important thing for everyone is to look forward to Uni and apply for courses you are interested in. And oh, learn from past experience, don't leave studying to the last min and you'll do fine! All of you are so smart!

Excerpts (without editing and without naming names):
"anyway, i got 4As, gp b3, one merit and one distinction for my s papers. not v ideal, quite average. guess i'm most disappointed with gp. but oh well, must still be thankful. and yes, speaking of thankfulness, must really thank you for saving my bio! getting an A in alevels reallly seemed quite impossible last year cos i kept borderline passing. and the worst thing was, i was losing interest in bio [like i wrote in that foolscap paper u made us fill up on your first day as our bio tchr, do you still rmb?] can't say i've regained interest, cos i still prefer a general overview of things; i find too much detail laborous and tiresome. yuppps. but thankyou for always motivating us, trying to liven up lessons! (:"

"im so sorry Mrs Goh, i scored a B for biology. overall i didnt really do too well, was quite disappointed but i'll pick up from here. I think my foundation wasnt very strong, so that made revision much harder when the exams drew nearer. I'll definitely learn from this, and make it a point to do consistent work in university. still, i would like to thank you Mrs Goh for teaching and guiding me through biology."

"i got A. Way above my expectations, i was really shocked! :O Elated =D
thanks for all your faith in me! And thanks for being such a great teacher! unarguably the most approachable teacher arnd. Your devotion, care and concern for your students, and the attention that you give to ppl like me, all i really appreciate! It's a privilege to have you as our teacher, and most of us are glad to have been your last class as well.
Come and visit us when you return =). And buy some ben&jerry's too! =D"

"I've got an A for bio. Thanks for helping me during the intensive weeks before the papers. I could still remember you correcting my concepts on pulmonary valves the night before paper two, and I cannot be more fortunate when valves came out the very next morning. How I was always clueless of facts in bio assessments from block tests toprelim. How I only managed to obtain one or two marks from trying past year questions. How I still did worryingly bad up till the last mock paper 3. What a relief come to think of it... At least it's over now, and I got an A. I'm really grateful to you, really. Because struggling (when not enough effort had been invested) in studies was tough, it helped a lot when theres a teacher that cares, to reassure a student with words of encouragement and her sunshine smile. You even sms-ed me the noon after paper two just to ask how I did... (thank you) ... and even emailed us from the far continent after we graduate...You arranged for remedial sessions that packed your working hours. (But it was more than that.) And went on to give students your handphone number and email address to help us even more. Being a mother of two, you could still reply sms-es so quickly to clarify my doubts. On top of that, you even did a sheet to help us prioritise topics for revision. Not only was it a confidence boost, I felt it made my studying a lot more structured somehow when you had something to follow. Reading this, I guess it isnt hard to tell that I would flop GP with a C6. My math got a B grade. I cant really head many places. Ive no idea whats next in life. So it helps, to think about the positive side. I had such a generous teacher. I think I did well for bio. And I'm grateful."

Moved to tears... I think you all have a very postive attitude and that's what matters. Great you are reflecting and moving on. Apply for something in Uni you are passionate about, that's most important.

Thank you for making teaching you so enjoyable and memorable. You have been wonderful.
