(Left: Family photo along Main Street, Right: See the guy's funny hat? A lot of people wear fancy costume stuff in the parks, very fun, like living out fantasies and dreams. A lot of little girls were dressed like princesses with tiaras or fairies with wings.)

We spent this day mostly at the two theme parks where our 3 day pass allowed us -- California Adventure Park and Disneyland. We only needed to pay for 3 kids' tickets because ds2 goes free and there was a "adults pay kids' price" promotion for this non peak period.

Left: Rivers of America, ship. Right: We took a raft (really, raft) across the river to Tom Sawyer's Island, where we climbed up Tom's treehouse, explored dark caves and a pirate's lair. I grew up reading about Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry and all their adventures so I could identify with all these, it was fun for me.

A scare: ds1, ds2 and me were in a dark cave that led to the top of a castle and because many split paths met again, ds1 and me took different paths at times and always met up. Btw, someone had to be with the stroller and bags cos the cave had very tiny narrow paths and low ceilings. dh kindly had that honour. So, ds1 took this left path at one fork and ds2 and me took the right. I got a fright when I went on for quite awhile and did not meet ds1 again. I tried to turn back but the incline was steep to turn back, and there were some kids behind us. The cave was too narrow for more than a person to pass at a time.

Just then, I heard ds1 shouting "mummy!". I panicked a bit but still couldn't walk back with ds2. Then I shouted back "I'm here, Titus! Can you follow mummy's voice? Climb up here!" So I continued shouting and I heard his voice getting nearer. I was very thankful to see him again after sometime, so relieved. He was too, and the moment he saw me, he cried (very loudly)... After that, he didn't want to explore any more caves, although he kept wanting to go through the caves repeatedly earlier. Can understand...

Below: bridges on the same island.

California Adv Park: After watching the DVD, ds1 loved Mr Incredible. When they appeared, he was so fascinated he wanted to stay there forever. When MR Incredible walked off, he ran after him. As for elastigirl, dh felt the actual character was slimmer, so she looked unrealistic. Trust him to notice all these. :-)

Lemon trees at California Adv Park.
Lightning McQueen and Mater came roaring out on the streets together, delighting the kids immensely. But poor Mater had no attention given to him by ds1... He stuck to the sports car throughout.
While ds2 was napping, ds1 had the chance to learn the ways of the Jedi at the Star Wars Jedi Training Academy. Later on at the souvenir store, he tried to teach ds2 his newfound light sabre skills. Dh and I have this "no-buying-of-guns-or-swords-kind-of-toy" policy, so maybe that has caused ds1 to especially like guns and swords? Not sure...

Block Party Bash at California Adv Park. It a parade and dance party with all the Pixar Film characters on floats, and some acrobatic acts, like jumping on stilts, cycling and trampoline stunts... ds1 liked to dance, but he always seem to face different direction as everyone else... haha

We went back to the motel earlier this day as it was Sunday and we wanted to get some fmaily devotion time.
Btw the motel was very cheap and good. Very basic but we just spend the nights there so there was no need for great facilities. I say this because we were to experience not so good ones later.
