Sundays are the days we go out most so far.
A typical Sunday would be spent almost entirely in church because there are morning and evening services.
Morning classes and worship last from 9am till about noon. And Sunday lunch is about the only time we eat out. :-) Last Sunday we treated the church elder and his wife to buffet lunch because they have helped us a lot. The restaurant was something like sizzler's with free flow salad bar, pastas, ice cream, drinks etc. US$10 per adult. For kids, they are very specific. I've never seen a more detailed pricing. They started from 4yo, US$2.50 and then for each additional year, there's an increase of about 25-50cents. So both my sons can eat for free, haha. But they don't eat much anyway lah.
After that, the elder gave us a ride to Target where we shopped for another week's worth of groceries. Then it was home and time for evening service already.
Here are some pics of us at church and the kids in their Sunday school class, which is very similar to our JBC in Singapore JCOC.
(description below is for JCOC benefit - long)

ds2's cradle roll class: it is quite similar. Note the animals used in 1st pic.
then in 2nd pic, someone must show Dorcas! they have the same laminated "sun moon and stars" placard, I can't believe even the position of the moon and stars are almost the same. They sing the same song using these cards too, the "In the beginning it was very dark" song.
the last pic shows some more animals. there are more songs actually, cos i sat in for the 1st week as well. but this last sunday a new boy came (the one sitting in tr's lap) and he cried a fair bit, so the lesson was shorter.
Above left: ds1's class, something like our Nursery. They've a very cheery classroom with all the kids' handicraft on display. Shown here are his 2 trs and a classmate who was crying and needed to be pacified. His mom just left the room.
Above middle: two other friends and ds1 himself, working on a puzzle.
Above right: our whole family plus my mom at the auditorium pew. ds2 was napping.
(btw Judith, I am wearing the necklace you gave me).
ds1 really loves his class, he'd no problems saying goodbye to me. On wed, he even told me the class mixed pudding powder with milk and water to make pudding that they ate during the lesson. he was very very excited about that. that was when i asked him what did he learn.... upon further probing as to what the lesson was about, he said Jesus.
then he proceeded to tell me how he told the tr and his classmates all about superheroes. i asked him what had that to do with Jesus, and he said, tr said Jesus has a lot of power. once he heard that, he went on and on about how superman, ultraman, spiderman are powerful and are superheroes. i cringed inwardly and hoped the tr would not mind his incessant chatter that often digresses so much from the topic. :-)
